Rabi bin Sabra reported,

We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and when we had completed our umrah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "Enjoy these women in temporary marriage."The narrator said, enjoyment among us meant marriage. He said, we proposed this to the women, but they refused unless a fixed term was agreed upon between us and them. We mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Do so."So I set out together with a cousin of mine. He had a cloak and I had a cloak, but his cloak was finer than mine, while I was younger than him. We came to a woman and proposed the matter to her. She was impressed by my youth and impressed by my cousin's cloak. She said, "One cloak is just like the other."So I married her, and the term agreed upon between us was ten days. I spent that night with her, and in the morning I went out to the mosque. There was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ standing between the door and the stone, addressing the people. He was saying, "People, I had permitted you to enjoy these women in temporary marriage. But Allah has now forbidden that until the Day of Resurrection. So whoever has any of them with him, let him release her, and do not take back anything of what you have given them."

حدثنا وكيع حدثنا عبد العزيز قال أخبرني

الربيع بن سبرة الجهني عن أبيه قال

خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ فلما قضينا عمرتنا قال لنا رسول الله ﷺ استمتعوا من هذه النساء قال والاستمتاع عندنا يوم التزويج قال فعرضنا ذلك على النساء فأبين إلا أن يضرب بيننا وبينهن أجلا قال فذكرنا ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال افعلوا فانطلقت أنا وابن عم لي ومعه بردة ومعي بردة وبردته أجود من بردتي وأنا أشب منه فأتينا امرأة فعرضنا ذلك عليها فأعجبها شبابي وأعجبها برد ابن عمي فقالت برد كبرد قال فتزوجتها فكان الأجل بيني وبينها عشرا قال فبت عندها تلك الليلة ثم أصبحت غاديا إلى المسجد فإذا رسول الله ﷺ بين الباب والحجر يخطب الناس يقول ألا أيها الناس قد كنت أذنت لكم في الاستمتاع من هذه النساء ألا وإن الله تبارك وتعالى قد حرم ذلك إلى يوم القيامة فمن كان عنده منهن شيء فليخل سبيلها ولا تأخذوا مما آتيتموهن شيئا
