We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Medina during the Farewell Pilgrimage. When we reached Usfan, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Umrah has now been included in Hajj."Suraqa bin Malik, or Malik bin Suraqa, Abdul-Aziz was uncertain which, said to him, "Messenger of Allah, instruct us as you would instruct people who were born today. Is this umrah of ours for this year only, or forever?"He replied, "No, it is forever."When we arrived in Mecca, we performed tawaf around the House and walked between Safa and Marwa. Then he commanded us to perform mutah with women. We returned to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, they refuse anything except for a fixed term."He said, "Then do so."So I went out with a companion of mine. I was wearing a cloak and he was wearing a cloak. We came upon a woman and proposed ourselves to her. She kept looking at my companion's cloak and seeing it as finer than mine, then she would look at me and see that I was younger than him. She said, "One cloak is as good as the other," and she chose me. So I married her for ten days for the price of my cloak, and I spent that night with her.In the morning, I went out to the mosque and heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the pulpit delivering a sermon, saying, "Whoever among you has married a woman for a fixed term, let him give her what was agreed upon, let him not take back anything he gave her, and let him part from her, for Allah the Exalted has forbidden it to you until the Day of Resurrection."
