The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me a gift on the day of Hunayn, and at that time he was the most hated of people to me. He kept on giving to me until he became the most beloved of people to me.
حدثنا زكريا بن عدي عن ابن المبارك عن يونس عن الزهري عن سعيد بن المسيب
أعطاني رسول الله ﷺ يوم حنين وإنه لأبغض الناس إلي فما زال يعطيني حتى صار وإنه أحب الناس إلي
Its isnad is sahih. Zakariya bin Adi is the trustworthy, eminent hafiz.The hadith was narrated by Muslim, 4/1806, no. 2313, in the Book of Virtues, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was never asked about something," and by Tirmidhi, 3/44, no. 666, in the Book of Zakat, on what has been said about giving zakat to those whose hearts are to be won over, and he indicated that it was sahih.
