The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade Uthman from celibacy. Had he permitted it, we would have castrated ourselves.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري قال أخبرني سعيد بن المسيب
لقد رد رسول الله ﷺ على عثمان التبتل ولو أحله لاختصينا
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of 1514 with the same meaning. Uthman is Ibn Mazun, as was explicitly stated previously.
