He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Madinah is like a furnace. Ibrahim made Makkah a sanctuary, and I declare Madinah a sanctuary. It is like Makkah, sacred. The area between its two lava fields and the entirety of its protected pasturelands are sacred. None of its trees may be cut, except for a man to feed his animal. Allah willing, neither plague nor the Dajjal shall come near it, for the angels guard it at every mountain pass and every gate."
حدثنا حسن حدثنا ابن لهيعة أخبرنا أبو الزبير قال و
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول مثل المدينة كالكير وحرم إبراهيم مكة وأنا أحرم المدينة وهي كمكة حرام ما بين حرتيها وحماها كلها لا يقطع منها شجرة إلا أن يعلف رجل منها ولا يقربها إن شاء الله الطاعون ولا الدجال والملائكة يحرسونها على أنقابها وأبوابها
