I asked Jabir about circumambulating the Kaabah, and he said, "We used to make tawaf and touch the corner at the beginning and at the end. We would not make tawaf after the dawn prayer until the sun had risen, nor after the afternoon prayer until it had set."He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The sun rises between the two horns of Satan.'"

سألت جابرا عن الطواف بالكعبة فقال كنا نطوف فنمسح الركن الفاتحة والخاتمة ولم نكن نطوف بعد صلاة الصبح حتى تطلع الشمس ولا بعد العصر حتى تغرب وقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول تطلع الشمس على قرني الشيطان
Its chain of transmission is hasan due to Ibn Lahia, and the hadith has already appeared at 14692. As for his saying, "the opening and the closing," it means wiping the corner at the beginning of the tawaf and at its end.
