The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever buys food must not sell it until he has taken full possession of it."
حدثنا أبو سعد الصنعاني حدثنا ابن جريج عن أبي الزبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ من ابتاع طعاما فلا يبيعه حتى يستوفيه
Its isnad is daif, like the one before it, but the hadith is sahih, having already appeared at 5861. Bukhari narrated it in 4/344, no. 2126 (Fath), Muslim in 3/1159, no. 1525, in the Book of Sales, chapter on the invalidity of selling before taking possession, Abu Dawud in 3/281, no. 3492, in the Book of Sales, chapter on the disapproval of selling food before receiving it in full, and Tirmidhi in 3/586, no. 1291, with similar wording, saying, "Hasan sahih."
