A man designated his slave as a mudabbar, meaning the slave would be freed upon his master's death, but the master was in debt. So the Prophet ﷺ sold the slave to settle his master's debt.
حدثنا أسود حدثنا شريك عن سلمة بن كهيل عن عطاء
أن رجلا دبر عبدا له وعليه دين فباعه النبي ﷺ في دين مولاه
