The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade it. This was mentioned to Ibn Umar, and a man said, "I saw Ibn Jabir seeking land for sharecropping."Ibn Umar said, "Look at this man. His father narrates from the Prophet ﷺ that he forbade Kira Ard, yet he himself seeks land to sharecrop on."
حدثنا سريج حدثنا حماد يعني ابن زيد عن عمرو
نهى رسول الله ﷺ فذكر ذلك لابن عمر فقال رجل أنا رأيت ابن جابر يطلب أرضا مخابرة فقال ابن عمر انظروا إلى هذا إن أباه يحدث عن النبي ﷺ أنه نهى عن كراء الأرض وهو يطلب أرضا يخابر بها
