We set out with the Prophet ﷺ in a state of ihram for the pilgrimage. When we arrived in Mecca, we performed tawaf around the Kaaba and walked between Safa and Marwa. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Come out of ihram and treat it as an umrah, except for those who have brought sacrificial animals with them."The incense burners gave off their fragrance, and the men returned to their wives. When the Day of Tarwiyah came, we entered ihram for the pilgrimage.Suraqa bin Malik bin Jusham asked, "Messenger of Allah, is this umrah of ours just for this year, or for all time?"He replied, "No, rather it is for all time."

خرجنا مع النبي ﷺ مهلين بالحج فقدمنا مكة فطفنا بالبيت وبالصفا والمروة فقال رسول الله ﷺ أحلوا واجعلوها عمرة إلا من ساق الهدي قال فسطعت المجامر ووقعت النساء فلما كان يوم التروية أهللنا بالحج قال سراقة بن مالك بن جعشم يا رسول الله عمرتنا هذه ألعامنا أم للأبد قال لا بل للأبد
