Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

I traveled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys, and I believe he said it was a military expedition. When we were heading back, he said, "Whoever wishes to hurry on ahead, let him do so."I was riding an ash-grey camel, and there was none like it in the army. So I pressed forward on it, with the people behind me. While I was in that state, my camel suddenly stopped and would not budge. Then I heard the voice of the Prophet ﷺ behind me.He asked, "What is wrong with your camel, Jabir?"I replied, "Messenger of Allah, I do not know what has come over it."He said, "Hold it steady and hand me the whip." So I gave him the whip, and he struck the camel with one blow, and from that moment the camel carried me wherever I wished.Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me, "Jabir, will you sell me your camel?"I said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "When you reach Madinah, come to me." So when he reached Madinah, he entered the mosque with a group of his companions. I tied up my camel and said, "Here is your camel, Messenger of Allah."He came out and began walking around it, saying, "What an excellent camel, my camel."Then he said, "So-and-so, go and bring me some ounces of gold." Then he said, "Give them to Jabir." I took them.The Prophet ﷺ then asked, "Have you received the full price?"I said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "The price is yours, and the camel is yours too," or "The camel is yours, and the price is yours."

عن جابر بن عبد الله قال

سافرت مع رسول الله ﷺ في بعض أسفاره وأحسبه قال غازيا فلما أقبلنا قافلين قال من أحب أن يتعجل فليتعجل وأنا على جمل أرمك ليس في الجند مثله فاندفعت عليه فإذا الناس خلفي فبينا أنا كذلك إذ قام جملي فجعل لا يتحرك فإذا صوت النبي ﷺ فقال ما شأن جملك يا جابر قلت يا رسول الله لا أدري ما عرض له قال استمسك وأعطني السوط فأعطيته السوط فضربه ضربة فذهب بي البعير كل مذهب فقال لي النبي ﷺ عند ذلك يا جابر أتبيعني جملك قلت نعم يا رسول الله قال أقدم المدينة فقدم المدينة فدخل في طوائف من أصحابه المسجد فعقلت بعيري فقلت هذا جملك يا رسول الله فخرج فجعل يطيف به ويقول نعم الجمل جملي فقال يا فلان انطلق فائتني بأواق من ذهب فقال أعطها جابرا فقبضتها فقال النبي ﷺ استوفيت الثمن قلت نعم يا رسول الله قال فلك الثمن ولك الجمل أو لك الجمل ولك الثمن
