Abu Bakr reported,

One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rose in the morning and prayed the dawn prayer, then sat until the forenoon. At that point, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed, then remained sitting in his place until he prayed the noon prayer, then the afternoon prayer, then the sunset prayer, all without speaking, until he prayed the night prayer. Then he got up to go to his family.The people said to Abu Bakr, "Will you not ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what is the matter with him? He did something today that he has never done before."So he asked him, and the Prophet replied, "Yes. There was shown to me what will come to pass concerning the affairs of this world and the next. The earlier and later generations will be gathered on a single plain, and the people will be so distressed by this that they will set out to Adam , with sweat almost reaching their mouths like reins.They will say, 'Adam, you are the father of mankind, and Allah chose you. Intercede for us with your Lord.'He will reply, 'I have faced something like what you face. Go to the father after your father, to Nuh, "Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the family of Ibrahim and the family of Imran over the worlds" [Al Imran 3:33].'So they will go to Nuh and say, 'Intercede for us with your Lord, for Allah chose you and answered your supplication, and did not leave a single disbeliever's dwelling on the earth.'He will say, 'That is not for me to do. Go to Ibrahim , for Allah took him as a close friend.'So they will go to Ibrahim, and he will say, 'That is not for me to do. But go to Musa , for Allah spoke to him directly.'Musa will say, 'That is not for me to do. But go to Isa, son of Maryam, for he used to heal the blind and the leper and revive the dead.'Isa will say, 'That is not for me to do. But go to the master of the children of Adam, for he is the first for whom the earth will split open on the Day of Resurrection. Go to Muhammad ﷺ, and he will intercede for you with your Lord .'So he will set out, and Jibril will come to his Lord, and Allah will say, 'Grant him permission and give him glad tidings of Paradise.'Jibril will go with him, and he will fall down in prostration for the length of a week. Allah will say, 'Raise your head, Muhammad, and speak, you will be heard, and intercede, your intercession will be accepted.'He will raise his head, but when he looks upon his Lord , he will fall in prostration again for the length of another week. Allah will say, 'Raise your head and speak, you will be heard, and intercede, your intercession will be accepted.'He will go to fall in prostration again, but Jibril will take hold of him by the upper arms, and Allah will open up to him such words of supplication as He has never opened to any human being before. He will say, 'My Lord, You created me as the master of the children of Adam, and there is no boasting in this, and the first for whom the earth will split open on the Day of Resurrection, and there is no boasting in this, until those who come to my Pool will be more numerous than the distance between Sana and Ayla.'Then it will be said, 'Call forth the truthful ones,' and they will intercede.Then it will be said, 'Call forth the prophets.' A prophet will come with a band of followers, and a prophet with five or six, and a prophet with no one at all.Then it will be said, 'Call forth the martyrs,' and they will intercede for whomever they wish."The Prophet continued, "When the martyrs have done that, Allah will say, 'I am the Most Merciful of the merciful. Admit into My Paradise anyone who did not associate anything with Me.'So they will enter Paradise. Then Allah will say, 'Look into the Fire, do you find anyone there who ever did any good?'They will find a man in the Fire, and He will say to him, 'Did you ever do any good?'He will reply, 'No, except that I used to be lenient with people in buying and selling.'Allah will say, 'Be lenient with My servant just as he was lenient with My servants.'Then they will bring out another man from the Fire, and He will say to him, 'Did you ever do any good?'He will reply, 'No, except that I commanded my children that when I died, they should burn me with fire, then grind me up until I was like kohl, then take me to the sea and scatter me in the wind. By Allah, the Lord of the worlds will never be able to recover me.'Allah will say, 'Why did you do that?'He will reply, 'Out of fear of You.'Allah will say, 'Look at the greatest kingdom of any king, for you shall have the like of it and ten times more.'He will say, 'Are You mocking me, when You are the King?'"The Prophet said, "That is what I laughed at in the forenoon."

حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق الطالقاني قال حدثني النضر بن شميل المازني قال حدثني أبو نعامة قال حدثني أبو هنيدة البراء بن نوفل عن والان العدوي عن حذيفة

عن أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه قال

أصبح رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم فصلى الغداة ثم جلس حتى إذا كان من الضحى ضحك رسول الله ﷺ ثم جلس مكانه حتى صلى الأولى والعصر والمغرب كل ذلك لا يتكلم حتى صلى العشاء الآخرة ثم قام إلى أهله فقال الناس لأبي بكر ألا تسأل رسول الله ﷺ ما شأنه صنع اليوم شيئا لم يصنعه قط قال فسأله فقال نعم عرض علي ما هو كائن من أمر الدنيا وأمر الآخرة فجمع الأولون والآخرون بصعيد واحد ففظع الناس بذلك حتى انطلقوا إلى آدم عليه السلام والعرق يكاد يلجمهم فقالوا يا آدم أنت أبو البشر وأنت اصطفاك الله عز وجل اشفع لنا إلى ربك قال لقد لقيت مثل الذي لقيتم انطلقوا إلى أبيكم بعد أبيكم إلى نوح {إن الله اصطفى آدم ونوحا وآل إبراهيم وآل عمران على العالمين} قال فينطلقون إلى نوح عليه السلام فيقولون اشفع لنا إلى ربك فأنت اصطفاك الله واستجاب لك في دعائك ولم يدع على الأرض من الكافرين ديارا فيقول ليس ذاكم عندي انطلقوا إلى إبراهيم عليه السلام فإن الله عز وجل اتخذه خليلا فينطلقون إلى إبراهيم فيقول ليس ذاكم عندي ولكن انطلقوا إلى موسى عليه السلام فإن الله عز وجل كلمه تكليما فيقول موسى عليه السلام ليس ذاكم عندي ولكن انطلقوا إلى عيسى ابن مريم فإنه يبرئ الأكمه والأبرص ويحيي الموتى فيقول عيسى ليس ذاكم عندي ولكن انطلقوا إلى سيد ولد آدم فإنه أول من تنشق عنه الأرض يوم القيامة انطلقوا إلى محمد ﷺ فيشفع لكم إلى ربكم عز وجل قال فينطلق فيأتي جبريل عليه السلام ربه فيقول الله عز وجل ائذن له وبشره بالجنة قال فينطلق به جبريل فيخر ساجدا قدر جمعة ويقول الله عز وجل ارفع رأسك يا محمد وقل يسمع واشفع تشفع قال فيرفع رأسه فإذا نظر إلى ربه عز وجل خر ساجدا قدر جمعة أخرى فيقول الله عز وجل ارفع رأسك وقل يسمع واشفع تشفع قال فيذهب ليقع ساجدا فيأخذ جبريل عليه السلام بضبعيه فيفتح الله عز وجل عليه من الدعاء شيئا لم يفتحه على بشر قط فيقول أي رب خلقتني سيد ولد آدم ولا فخر وأول من تنشق عنه الأرض يوم القيامة ولا فخر حتى إنه ليرد علي الحوض أكثر مما بين صنعاء وأيلة ثم يقال ادعوا الصديقين فيشفعون ثم يقال ادعوا الأنبياء قال فيجيء النبي ومعه العصابة والنبي ومعه الخمسة والستة والنبي وليس معه أحد ثم يقال ادعوا الشهداء فيشفعون لمن أرادوا وقال فإذا فعلت الشهداء ذلك قال يقول الله عز وجل أنا أرحم الراحمين أدخلوا جنتي من كان لا يشرك بي شيئا قال فيدخلون الجنة قال ثم يقول الله عز وجل انظروا في النار هل تلقون من أحد عمل خيرا قط قال فيجدون في النار رجلا فيقول له هل عملت خيرا قط فيقول لا غير أني كنت أسامح الناس في البيع والشراء فيقول الله عز وجل أسمحوا لعبدي كإسماحه إلى عبيدي ثم يخرجون من النار رجلا فيقول له هل عملت خيرا قط فيقول لا غير أني قد أمرت ولدي إذا مت فأحرقوني بالنار ثم اطحنوني حتى إذا كنت مثل الكحل فاذهبوا بي إلى البحر فاذروني في الريح فوالله لا يقدر علي رب العالمين أبدا فقال الله عز وجل لم فعلت ذلك قال من مخافتك قال فيقول الله عز وجل انظر إلى ملك أعظم ملك فإن لك مثله وعشرة أمثاله قال فيقول لم تسخر بي وأنت الملك قال وذاك الذي ضحكت منه من الضحى
