The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The water of Zamzam is for whatever purpose it is drunk."

Its isnad is hasan, on account of Abdullah bin Muammal. The hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah, 2/1018, no. 3062, in the Book of Rites, on drinking the water of Zamzam. It was declared daif in Zawaid on account of this Abdullah bin Muammal, but in my view it does not reach the degree of severe weakness, so it is acceptable, for Ibn Saad, Ibn Hibban, and Ibn Main (in one report) all deemed him trustworthy. The hadith is also found in Ibn Abu Shayba, 4/358 (Dar al-Fikr edition), through the same route, and Hakim narrated it through another route and graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
