I asked Jabir, "Did you hear the Prophet ﷺ say that a man is considered to be in prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer?"He replied, "We waited for the Prophet ﷺ one night for the late evening prayer. He delayed coming out to us until it was close to the middle of the night, or thereabouts. Then the Prophet ﷺ came and led us in prayer. Afterwards he said, 'Sit down,' and he addressed us, saying, 'The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you have continued to be in prayer for as long as you were waiting for the prayer.'"

سألت جابرا هل سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول الرجل في صلاة ما انتظر الصلاة قال انتظرنا النبي ﷺ ليلة لصلاة العتمة فاحتبس علينا حتى كان قريبا من شطر الليل أو بلغ ذلك ثم جاء النبي ﷺ فصلينا ثم قال اجلسوا فخطبنا فقال النبي ﷺ إن الناس قد صلوا ورقدوا وأنتم لم تزالوا في صلاة ما انتظرتم الصلاة
