Abu Zubayr reported,

I asked Jabir about a mouse that dies in food or drink, whether the food may still be eaten.He replied, "No. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that. We used to store clarified butter in jars, and he said, 'If a mouse dies in it, do not eat it.'"

سألت جابرا عن الفأرة تموت في الطعام أو الشراب أطعمه قال لا زجر رسول الله ﷺ عن ذلك كنا نضع السمن في الجرار فقال إذا ماتت الفأرة فيه فلا تطعموه
