The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you proposes to a woman, if he is able to look at what will encourage him to marry her, let him do so."He said, "So I proposed to a young woman from Banu Salama, and I used to hide for her sake beneath the palm fronds until I saw of her what encouraged me to marry her, and so I married her."
حدثنا يونس بن محمد حدثنا عبد الواحد بن زياد حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق عن داود بن الحصين عن واقد بن عبد الرحمن بن سعد بن معاذ
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا خطب أحدكم المرأة فإن استطاع أن ينظر منها إلى ما يدعوه إلى نكاحها فليفعل قال فخطبت جارية من بني سلمة فكنت أختبئ لها تحت الكرب حتى رأيت منها بعض ما دعاني إلى نكاحها فتزوجتها
