Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the home of a woman from the Ansar who had prepared food for him. The Prophet ﷺ said, "A man from the people of Paradise will come in to you."Then Abu Bakr entered, and we congratulated him.Then he said, "A man from the people of Paradise will come in to you."Then Umar entered, and we congratulated him.Then he said, "A man from the people of Paradise will come in to you." I saw the Prophet ﷺ lowering his head beneath the palm fronds, saying, "O Allah, if You will, let it be Ali."Then Ali entered, and we congratulated him.

حدثنا أبو أحمد حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل

عن جابر قال

كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ عند امرأة من الأنصار صنعت له طعاما فقال النبي ﷺ يدخل عليكم رجل من أهل الجنة فدخل أبو بكر رضي الله عنه فهنيناه ثم قال يدخل عليكم رجل من أهل الجنة فدخل عمر رضي الله عنه فهنيناه ثم قال يدخل عليكم رجل من أهل الجنة فرأيت النبي ﷺ يدخل رأسه تحت الودي فيقول اللهم إن شئت جعلته عليا فدخل علي رضي الله عنه فهنيناه
