The Prophet ﷺ decreed in writing that every clan was responsible for its own blood-money payments. He then wrote that it was not permissible for a freed slave of a Muslim man to take another as his patron without his master's permission.Rawh said, "yatawalla."

كتب النبي ﷺ على كل بطن عقوله ثم إنه كتب أنه لا يحل أن يتوالى مولى رجل مسلم بغير إذنه قال روح يتولى
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Muslim, 2/1146, no. 1507, in the chapter on emancipation, on the prohibition of a freed slave affiliating himself with someone other than his own patrons, and in Nasai, 8/52, in the chapter on qasamah, on the description of quasi-intentional homicide.
