Saad bin Abu Waqqas reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the things that bring happiness to the son of Adam is his seeking guidance from Allah, and among the things that bring happiness to the son of Adam is his contentment with what Allah has decreed. Among the things that bring misery to the son of Adam is his abandoning seeking guidance from Allah, and among the things that bring misery to the son of Adam is his discontent with what Allah has decreed."

Daifحدثنا روح أملاه علينا ببغداد حدثنا محمد بن أبي حميد عن إسماعيل بن محمد بن سعد بن أبي وقاص عن أبيه عن جده
سعد بن أبي وقاص قال
قال رسول الله ﷺ من سعادة ابن آدم استخارته الله ومن سعادة ابن آدم رضاه بما قضاه الله ومن شقوة ابن آدم تركه استخارة الله ومن شقوة ابن آدم سخطه بما قضى الله عز وجل
Its isnad is daif. Muhammad bin Abu Humayd Ibrahim Ansari Zarqi, whose nickname was Hammad, is daif. Ibn Main, Abu Zura, Abu Hatim, Nasai, and others declared him daif. Ahmad said, "His hadiths are objectionable narrations." Bukhari said in al-Kabir 1/1/70, "His hadith is objectionable," and he said likewise in al-Sagheer and al-Duafa.Muhammad bin Saad bin Abu Waqqas was a trustworthy successor. He went out with Ibn Ashath, and Hajjaj killed him.Rawh is Ibn Ubadah.The hadith was narrated by Tirmidhi 3:203, from Muhammad bin Bashshar, from Abu Amir Aqadi, from Muhammad bin Abu Humayd. He said, "It is a rare hadith, we do not know it except through the hadith of Muhammad bin Abu Humayd, who is also called Hammad bin Abu Humayd, and he is Ibrahim Madani, and he is not considered strong among the people of hadith."
