Amr reported,

I heard Ikrima on the verse "And when We directed toward you" [Ahqaf 46:29], and it was recited to Sufyan, from Zubayr, "a company of the jinn, listening to the Quran" [Ahqaf 46:29]. He said this happened at Nakhlah, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying the late evening prayer.Concerning "they were almost upon him in a mass" [Jinn 72:19], Sufyan said, "They were one on top of another like matted felt, layer upon layer."
