The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left Mecca at sunset and did not pray until he reached Sarif, which is nine miles from Mecca.

خرج رسول الله ﷺ من مكة عند غروب الشمس فلم يصل حتى أتى سرف وهي تسعة أميال من مكة
Its chain of transmission is sahih, though there has been some discussion regarding Muhammad bin Fudayl bin Ghazwan and Ajlah bin Abdullah Kindi, both of whom are accused of holding Shia leanings. However, the hadith itself is far removed from sectarian bias.
