Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. When we returned and were about to enter Madinah, he said, "Wait until we enter at night, that is, in the evening, so that the woman with disheveled hair may comb it and the woman whose husband has been away may groom herself."

كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في سفر فلما رجعنا ذهبنا لندخل فقال أمهلوا حتى ندخل ليلا أي عشاء لكي تمتشط الشعثة وتستحد المغيبة
