The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to deliver his sermon leaning against the trunk of a palm tree. A woman from the Ansar who had a young carpenter as a servant said, "Messenger of Allah, I have a young servant who is a carpenter. Shall I instruct him to make a pulpit for you to deliver your sermons from?"He replied, "Yes."So she had a pulpit made for him. When Friday came, he delivered his sermon from the pulpit. The palm trunk against which he used to stand began to moan like a child crying. The Prophet ﷺ said, "This is weeping over the remembrance it has lost."
