The Prophet ﷺ once entered a palm grove belonging to Banu Najjar and heard the voices of some men from Banu Najjar who had died during the days of ignorance being punished in their graves. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out alarmed and instructed his companions to seek refuge from the punishment of the grave.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا ابن جريج أخبرني أبو الزبير أنه سمع
دخل النبي ﷺ يوما نخلا لبني النجار فسمع أصوات رجال من بني النجار ماتوا في الجاهلية يعذبون في قبورهم فخرج رسول الله ﷺ فزعا فأمر أصحابه أن تعوذوا من عذاب القبر
