The Prophet ﷺ was asked about nushrah, and he said, "It is from the work of Satan."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا عقيل بن معقل سمعت وهب بن منبه يحدث
سئل النبي ﷺ عن النشرة فقال من عمل الشيطان
Its isnad is sahih. Aqeel bin Maqil is truthful, and no one has criticized him. Here he narrates from his uncle Wahb bin Munabbih. Haythami also graded the hadith sahih, 5/102, by the route of Abu Yaala, without attributing it to Ahmad. Ibn Abu Shayba also related it, 7/287, number 3567, in the chapter on medicine, on those who disliked that, as did Hakim, 4/418, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Nushra is a type of ruqya, though it may specifically refer to the kind that is not sanctioned.
