While the Prophet ﷺ was sitting with his companions, he tore his shirt and took it off. When he was asked about it, he said, "I had promised them that I would garland the sacrificial animals today, but I forgot."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا داود بن قيس عن عبد الرحمن بن عطاء أنه
بينا النبي ﷺ جالس مع أصحابه شق قميصه حتى خرج منه فقيل له فقال واعدتهم يقلدون هديا اليوم فنسيت
