Hail rained down on us while Abu Talha was fasting, and he began to eat from it.He was asked, "Are you eating while you are fasting?"He replied, "This is simply a blessing."

Its isnad is sahih. Ubaydullah bin Muaz bin Muaz bin Nasr is reliable, as is his father, both mentioned previously. The hadith was narrated by Abu Yaala 3/15 no. 1424 from Anas, and likewise in 7/74 no. 3999, and Bazzar 1/427 no. 719 in the abridged version. Haythami mentioned it and graded it daif by way of Bazzar, but graded it hasan by way of Abu Yaala. Ibn Asakir also transmitted it by way of Ibn Ahmad 6/625 (manuscript). The hadith is also among the additions of Abdullah, and had not previously appeared with his father.
