I was sitting with Ali when a man wearing travel clothes came in and asked permission to see him. Ali
was speaking with the people and was occupied, so he could not attend to him. Then Ali
said, "I once went in to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while Ayesha
was with him.He asked me, 'How are you and the people of such and such?'I replied, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.'He repeated the question, and I again said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.'Then he said, 'A people will emerge from the direction of the east who recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through its prey. Among them will be a man with a deformed hand, his hand resembling the breast of an Ethiopian woman.'I ask you by Allah, did I not tell you that among them..."And he went on to mention the hadith in its full length.
