Anas bin Malik reported,

The tribes of Ril, Usayya, Zakwan, and Banu Lihyan came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him that they had embraced Islam, and they asked for his support against their people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent seventy men from the Ansar to assist them.Anas said, "We used to call them the Reciters in their time. They would gather firewood by day and pray by night. When they reached the well of Maunah, the tribes betrayed them and killed them. So the Prophet ﷺ performed the qunut for a month, supplicating against these tribes, Usayya, Ril, Zakwan, and Banu Lihyan."Anas also told us, "We used to recite a verse about them, 'Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord , and He is pleased with us and has pleased us.' Then it was abrogated, or withdrawn."

أن رعلا وعصية وذكوان وبني لحيان أتوا النبي ﷺ فأخبروه أنهم قد أسلموا واستمدوا على قومهم فأمدهم رسول الله ﷺ بسبعين من الأنصار قال كنا نسميهم القراء في زمانهم كانوا يحتطبون بالنهار ويصلون بالليل حتى إذا كانوا ببئر معونة غدروا بهم فقتلوهم فقنت النبي ﷺ شهرا يدعو على هذه الأحياء عصية ورعل وذكوان وبني لحيان و حدثنا أنس أنا قرأنا بهم قرآنا بلغوا عنا قومنا أنا قد لقينا ربنا عز وجل فرضي عنا وأرضانا ثم نسخ أو رفع
