He recited this verse, "Indeed, We have granted you al-Kawthar" [Kawthar 108:1], and said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I was granted al-Kawthar, and behold, it was a flowing river, not one that had been dug out. Its two banks were domes of pearl. I struck my hand into its soil, and behold, it was fragrant musk, and its pebbles were pearls."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد أخبرنا ثابت
أنه قرأ هذه الآية {إنا أعطيناك الكوثر} قال قال رسول الله ﷺ أعطيت الكوثر فإذا هو نهر يجري ولم يشق شقا فإذا حافتاه قباب اللؤلؤ فضربت بيدي إلى تربته فإذا هو مسكة ذفرة وإذا حصاه اللؤلؤ
