We have been told that the Prophet ﷺ prayed behind Abu Bakr during the illness in which he died, sitting and wrapped in a garment. He said, I believe he said it was a striped cloak. Then he called Usama and leaned his back against his chest, and said, "Usama, lift me up against you."Yazid said, in the document I had it was reported from Anas, but he did not say "from Anas," so he rejected that and confirmed it as from Thabit.
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا حميد الطويل
بلغنا أن النبي ﷺ صلى خلف أبي بكر في وجعه الذي مات فيه قاعدا متوشحا بثوب قال أظنه قال بردا ثم دعا أسامة فأسند ظهره إلى نحره ثم قال يا أسامة ارفعني إليك قال يزيد وكان في الكتاب الذي معي عن أنس فلم يقل عن أنس فأنكره وأثبت ثابتا
Its isnad is sahih, but there is some question about it. There is a difference of opinion regarding it from Humayd, as it has been narrated from him as disconnected, and it has been narrated from him as connected. It is corroborated in general terms by the preceding hadith, and likewise by the hadith about the death of the Prophet ﷺ and the imam leading the prayer while sitting.
