I am the most knowledgeable of people, or among the most knowledgeable, about the verse of the hijab. The Prophet ﷺ married Zaynab bint Jahsh, and he slaughtered a sheep and invited his companions. They ate, then sat conversing. The Prophet ﷺ kept going out and coming back in while they remained seated. Then he would go out and stay away as long as Allah willed, then return to find them still sitting. Zaynab was sitting in a corner of the room, and the Prophet ﷺ felt too shy to say anything to them.Then the verses were revealed, "Believers, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal, without waiting for it to be prepared. But when you are invited, enter, and when you have eaten, disperse..." up to His saying, "...ask them from behind a screen" [Ahzab 33:53].He said, So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that a screen be put up at once, and it was put up.

أنا أعلم الناس أو من أعلم الناس بآية الحجاب تزوج النبي ﷺ زينب ابنة جحش فذبح شاة فدعا أصحابه فأكلوا وقعدوا يتحدثون وجعل النبي ﷺ يخرج ويدخل وهم قعود ثم يخرج فيمكث ما شاء الله ويرجع وهم قعود وزينب قاعدة في ناحية البيت وجعل النبي ﷺ يستحيي منهم أن يقول لهم شيئا فنزلت {يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تدخلوا بيوت النبي إلا أن يؤذن لكم إلى طعام غير ناظرين إناه ولكن إذا دعيتم فادخلوا} الآيات إلى قوله عز وجل {فاسألوهن من وراء حجاب} قال فأمر رسول الله ﷺ بحجاب مكانه فضرب
