I heard him say, "No one was more prompt in performing the Asr prayer than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The two men of the Ansar whose homes were farthest from the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were Abu Lubaba bin Abd al-Mundhir, of the clan of Amr bin Awf, and Abu Abs bin Jabr, of the clan of Haritha. Abu Lubaba's home was in Quba, and Abu Abs bin Jabr's home was among the clan of Haritha. Yet they would pray Asr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and then return to their people, who had not yet prayed it, because of how early the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed it."
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق قال حدثني عاصم بن عمر بن قتادة الأنصاري ثم الظفري
سمعته يقول ما كان أحد أشد تعجلا لصلاة العصر من رسول الله ﷺ إن كان أبعد رجلين من الأنصار دارا من مسجد رسول الله ﷺ لأبو لبابة بن عبد المنذر أخو بني عمرو بن عوف وأبو عبس بن جبر أخو بني حارثة دار أبي لبابة بقباء أو دار أبي عبس بن جبر في بني حارثة ثم إن كانا ليصليان مع رسول الله ﷺ العصر ثم يأتيان قومهما وما صلوها لتبكير رسول الله ﷺ بها
