Ibn Shihab reported,

Anas bin Malik said, "I know more than anyone about the verse of hijab. Ubayy bin Kaab used to ask me about it."Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became a bridegroom one morning, having married Zaynab bint Jahsh. He had married her in Medina and invited the people to a meal after the day had grown bright. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down, and some men sat with him after the rest of the company had risen to leave. Eventually the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and walked, and I walked with him until he reached Ayesha's room. He thought they had left, so he returned, and I returned with him. But there they were, still seated in their place. So he turned back again, and I went with him a second time until he reached Ayesha's room. Then he turned back once more, and I went with him, and this time he found that they had risen and gone. He drew the curtain between himself and me, and the verse of hijab was revealed.
