Some people mentioned the Pool in the presence of Ubaydullah bin Ziyad. Hasan said, in his version, Ali bin Zayd reported from Hasan that the Pool was mentioned in the presence of Ubaydullah bin Ziyad, and he denied it, saying, "What is this Pool?"Word of this reached Anas bin Malik, who said, "By Allah, I will certainly deal with him." So he went to him and said, "You people were discussing the Pool?"Ubaydullah asked, "Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ speak of it?"Anas replied, "Yes. He mentioned it more than such and such a number of times. He said that the distance between its two edges is like the distance from Aylah to Makkah, or from Sanaa to Makkah, and that its vessels are more numerous than the stars of the sky."In Hasan's version, "and its vessels are more numerous than the number of the stars of the sky." His version also has, "By Allah, I will surely deal with him, I will surely deal with him."
