The king of Rome sent the Prophet ﷺ a robe of fine silk as a gift, and he put it on. It is as if I can still see its sleeves swinging because of their length. The people began saying, "Messenger of Allah, was this sent down to you from heaven?"He replied, "What is it about this that amazes you? By the One in whose hand my soul is, a single handkerchief from the handkerchiefs of Saad bin Muaz in Paradise is better than it."He then sent the robe to Jafar bin Abu Talib, who put it on. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "I did not give it to you so that you would wear it."Jafar asked, "Then what shall I do with it?"He answered, "Send it to your brother the Negus."

إن ملك الروم أهدى للنبي ﷺ مستقة من سندس فلبسها وكأني أنظر إلى يديها تذبذبان من طولهما فجعل القوم يقولون يا رسول الله أنزلت عليك هذه من السماء فقال وما يعجبكم منها فوالذي نفسي بيده إن منديلا من مناديل سعد بن معاذ في الجنة خير منها ثم بعث بها إلى جعفر بن أبي طالب فلبسها فقال النبي ﷺ إني لم أعطكها لتلبسها قال فما أصنع بها قال أرسل بها إلى أخيك النجاشي
