We prayed the Dhuhr prayer with Umar bin Abdul-Aziz, then we went to Anas bin Malik to inquire about his health, for he was unwell. When we entered upon him, we greeted him.He asked, "Have you prayed?"We replied, "Yes."He said, "Jariya, bring me water for ablution."Then he said, "I have not prayed behind any leader after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ whose prayer more closely resembled the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than this leader of yours."Isam said in his narration, "Thus my father said."Zayd said that he did not mention Abu Bakr or Umar in this regard.Zayd said, "Umar used to perform the bowing and prostration completely, while shortening the sitting and standing."

صلينا مع عمر بن عبد العزيز الظهر ثم انصرفنا إلى أنس بن مالك نسأل عنه وكان شاكيا فلما دخلنا عليه سلمنا قال أصليتم قلنا نعم قال يا جارية هلمي لي وضوءا ما صليت وراء إمام بعد رسول الله ﷺ أشبه صلاة برسول الله ﷺ من إمامكم هذا قال عصام في حديثه كذا قال أبي قال زيد ما يذكر في ذلك أبا بكر ولا عمر قال قال زيد وكان عمر يتم الركوع والسجود ويخفف القعود والقيام
