The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not reach an amount of grey hair that required dyeing, but Abu Bakr used to dye his head and beard with henna and katam. Hashim said, until their hair turned a deep red.

لم يبلغ رسول الله ﷺ من الشيب ما يخضبه ولكن أبو بكر كان يخضب رأسه ولحيته بالحناء والكتم قال هاشم حتى يقنئوا شعرهم
