Thumama bin Anas reported,

Whenever Anas spoke, he would repeat his words three times, and he mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ, when he spoke, would repeat his words three times, and he would seek permission three times.Abu Saeed said, "He narrated this hadith to us afterward, that the Prophet ﷺ used to seek permission three times."

حدثنا أبو سعيد مولى بني هاشم حدثنا عبد الله بن المثنى قال سمعت

ثمامة بن أنس يذكر

أن أنسا إذا تكلم تكلم ثلاثا ويذكر أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا تكلم تكلم ثلاثا وكان يستأذن ثلاثا قال أبو سعيد وحدثنا بعد ذلك بهذا الحديث أن النبي ﷺ كان يستأذن ثلاثا
