It was reported from the Prophet ﷺ that a man used to be granted, Affan said, granted from his wealth some palm trees, or as Allah willed, until Allah granted him victory over Qurayzah and Nadir. He said, "He then began returning them after that. My family instructed me to go to the Prophet ﷺ and ask him for what his family had given him, or some of it. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ had given them to Umm Ayman, or as Allah willed."He said, "So I asked the Prophet ﷺ, and he gave them to me. Then Umm Ayman came and placed the cloth around my neck and began saying, 'No, by Allah, beside whom there is no god, he will not give them to you, for he has already given them to me,' or as he said.The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "You shall have such and such."But she said, "No, by Allah."He said, "You shall have such and such."He kept on until he gave her, I think he said, ten times the amount, or he said, close to ten times the amount, or as he said.
حدثنا عارم وعفان قالا حدثنا معتمر قال سمعت أبي يقول
عن النبي ﷺ أن الرجل كان جعل له قال عفان يجعل له من ماله النخلات أو كما شاء الله حتى فتحت عليه قريظة والنضير قال فجعل يرد بعد ذلك وإن أهلي أمروني أن آتي النبي ﷺ فأسأله الذي كان أهله أعطوه أو بعضه وكان نبي الله ﷺ قد أعطاه أم أيمن أو كما شاء الله قال فسألت النبي ﷺ فأعطانيهن فجاءت أم أيمن فجعلت الثوب في عنقي وجعلت تقول كلا والله الذي لا إله إلا هو لا يعطيكهن وقد أعطانيهن أو كما قال فقال نبي الله ﷺ لك كذا وكذا وتقول كلا والله قال ويقول لك كذا وكذا قال حتى أعطاها فحسبت أنه قال عشر أمثالها أو قال قريبا من عشرة أمثالها أو كما قال
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated something similar in it, 7/410, no. 4120, in Fath al-Bari, in the chapters on military expeditions, on the return of the Prophet ﷺ from Ahzab, and Muslim, 3/1392, no. 1771, in jihad, on returning to the Ansar their milch animals that the emigrants had been given.
