A Jewish woman put poison in some meat and brought it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate from it and then said, "She has put poison in it."The companions asked, "Messenger of Allah, shall we kill her?"He replied, "No."The narrator said, "I could still see the traces of that poison in the soft palate of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
حدثنا روح حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت هشام بن زيد قال سمعت
أن يهودية جعلت سما في لحم ثم أتت به رسول الله ﷺ فأكل منه رسول الله ﷺ فقال إنها جعلت فيه سما قالوا يا رسول الله ألا نقتلها قال لا قال فجعلت أعرف ذلك في لهوات رسول الله ﷺ
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related the hadith in 5/230, no. 2617 (Fath al-Bari), in the Book of Gifts, chapter on accepting gifts from polytheists. Muslim related it in 4/1721, no. 2190, in the Book of Greetings, chapter on poison. And Abu Dawud related it in 4/173, no. 4508, in the Book of Blood Money, chapter on one who poisons another man.
