Anas bin Malik reported,

When wine was made forbidden, I was at that time pouring drinks for them. I was pouring for eleven men. They ordered me, so I overturned the vessel, and the people overturned their vessels along with what was in them, until the alleys nearly became blocked by the smell of it.Anas said, "Their wine on that day was nothing but unripe dates and ripe dates mixed together."A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I had wealth belonging to an orphan in my care, and I bought wine with it. Will you permit me to sell it so I may return the orphan's wealth to him?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah destroy the Jews. The fat was made forbidden to them, yet they sold it and consumed its price."The Prophet ﷺ did not give him permission to sell the wine.
