Anas bin Malik reported,

The Prophet ﷺ was wounded in the face on the day of Uhud, his front tooth was broken, and he was struck on his shoulders. Blood began to flow down his face as he wiped it away, saying, "How can a people prosper who have done this to their prophet while he calls them to Allah ?"Then Allah revealed, "Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them" [Aal Imran 3:128] until the end of the verse.

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا حميد

عن أنس

أن النبي ﷺ شج في وجهه يوم أحد وكسرت رباعيته ورمي رمية على كتفيه فجعل الدم يسيل على وجهه وهو يمسحه عن وجهه وهو يقول كيف تفلح أمة فعلوا هذا بنبيهم وهو يدعوهم إلى الله عز وجل فأنزل {ليس لك من الأمر شيء أو يتوب عليهم} إلى آخر الآية
