The Messenger of Allah ﷺ held a wedding feast for Zaynab and fed the Muslims their fill of bread and meat. Then he went out as he used to do whenever he married, going to the chambers of the Mothers of the Believers to greet them and pray for them, while they greeted him in return and prayed for him.Then he came back, and I was with him. When he reached the door, there were two men who had begun a conversation in a corner of the room. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw them, he turned away. When the two men noticed that the Prophet ﷺ had turned back, they sprang up startled and left.I do not know whether I told him or someone else told him, but the Prophet ﷺ then returned.
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا حميد
أولم رسول الله ﷺ بزينب فأشبع المسلمين خبزا ولحما ثم خرج كما كان يصنع إذا تزوج فيأتي حجر أمهات المؤمنين فيسلم عليهن ويدعو لهن ويسلمن عليه ويدعون له ثم رجع وأنا معه فلما انتهى إلى الباب إذا رجلان قد جرى بينهما الحديث في ناحية البيت فلما أبصرهما رسول الله ﷺ انصرف فلما رأى الرجلان النبي ﷺ قد رجع وثبا فزعين فخرجا فلا أدري أنا أخبرته أو من أخبره فرجع النبي ﷺ
