Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A boy was born to me last night, and I named him after my father Ibrahim."He then handed the child over to Umm Sayf, the wife of a blacksmith in Madinah called Abu Sayf. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set off to visit him, and I went with him. We came to Abu Sayf, who was blowing on his bellows, and the house had filled with smoke.I hurried ahead of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Abu Sayf, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has come."So he stopped. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then arrived, called for the child, and held him close.Anas said, "I saw the boy in the arms of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he was breathing his last, and the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ eyes filled with tears."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The eye sheds tears and the heart grieves, but we say only what pleases our Lord . By Allah, Ibrahim, we are saddened by your loss."

حدثنا بهز وعفان قالا حدثنا سليمان وحدثنا هاشم أخبرنا سليمان بن المغيرة قال عفان حدثنا ثابت

حدثنا أنس قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ ولد لي الليلة غلام فسميته باسم أبي إبراهيم قال ثم دفعه إلى أم سيف امرأة قين يقال له أبو سيف بالمدينة قال فانطلق رسول الله ﷺ يأتيه وانطلقت معه فانتهيت إلى أبي سيف وهو ينفخ بكيره وقد امتلأ البيت دخانا قال فأسرعت المشي بين يدي رسول الله ﷺ قال فقلت يا أبا سيف جاء رسول الله ﷺ قال فأمسك قال فجاء رسول الله ﷺ فدعا بالصبي فضمه إليه قال أنس فلقد رأيته بين يدي رسول الله ﷺ وهو يكيد بنفسه قال فدمعت عينا رسول الله ﷺ قال قال رسول الله ﷺ تدمع العين ويحزن القلب ولا نقول إلا ما يرضي ربنا عز وجل والله إنا بك يا إبراهيم لمحزونون
