Anas reported, "We were forbidden in the Quran from asking the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about anything, so it used to delight us when an intelligent man from the desert Bedouins would come and put questions to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."A man came and said, "Muhammad, your messenger came to us and claimed that you say Allah has sent you."He replied, "He spoke the truth."The man asked, "Who created the heaven?"He said, "Allah."The man asked, "Who created the earth?"He said, "Allah."The man asked, "Who set these mountains in place?"He said, "Allah."The man said, "By the One who created the heaven, created the earth, and set the mountains in place, did Allah truly send you?"He said, "Yes."The man said, "Your messenger claimed that we are obligated to perform five prayers in our day and night."He said, "He spoke the truth."The man said, "By the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?"He said, "Yes."The man said, "Your messenger claimed that we are obligated to give zakat from our wealth."He said, "He spoke the truth."The man said, "By the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?"He said, "Yes."The man said, "Your messenger claimed that we are obligated to fast the month of Ramadan in our year."Affan said, he replied, "He spoke the truth."The man said, "By the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?"He said, "Yes."The man said, "And your messenger claimed that we are obligated to perform Hajj, whoever is able to find a way to it."He said, "He spoke the truth."The man said, "By the One who sent you, did Allah command you with this?"He said, "Yes."Affan said, then the man turned to leave and said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I will not add to these nor subtract anything from them."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If he has spoken truthfully, he will surely enter Paradise."
حدثنا بهز وحدثنا عفان قالا حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة عن ثابت قال عفان
أنس كنا نهينا في القرآن أن نسأل رسول الله ﷺ عن شيء قال وكان يعجبنا أن يجيء الرجل من أهل البادية العاقل يسأل رسول الله ﷺ قال فجاء رجل فقال يا محمد أتانا رسولك وزعم لنا أنك تزعم أن الله عز وجل أرسلك قال صدق قال فمن خلق السماء قال الله قال فمن خلق الأرض قال الله قال فمن نصب هذه الجبال قال الله قال فبالذي خلق السماء وخلق الأرض ونصب الجبال آلله أرسلك قال نعم قال وزعم رسولك أن علينا خمس صلوات في يومنا وليلتنا قال صدق قال فبالذي أرسلك آلله أمرك بهذا قال نعم قال وزعم رسولك أن علينا زكاة في أموالنا قال صدق قال فبالذي أرسلك آلله أمرك بهذا قال نعم قال وزعم رسولك أن علينا صوم شهر رمضان في سنتنا قال عفان قال صدق قال فبالذي أرسلك آلله أمرك بهذا قال نعم وزعم رسولك أن علينا الحج من استطاع إليه سبيلا قال صدق قال فبالذي أرسلك آلله أمرك بهذا قال نعم قال عفان ثم ولى ثم قال والذي بعثك بالحق لا أزيد ولا أنتقص منهن شيئا قال رسول الله ﷺ لئن صدق ليدخلن الجنة
