Humayd Tawil reported,

Anas bin Malik was asked about raising the hands in supplication. He said, "Some of the Muslims came up to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a Friday and said, 'Messenger of Allah, the rain has been withheld, the land has become barren, and the livestock are perishing.'He raised his hands to pray for rain until I could see the whiteness of his armpits, and we could not see a single cloud in the sky. He stood and prayed, and the rain came down so heavily that those who lived nearby were anxious about getting back to their families. We had rain for a full week. On the following Friday, people said, 'Messenger of Allah, houses have collapsed and travelers are stranded.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Allah, around us and not upon us.'The clouds then cleared away from Medina."
