I was serving the people of my tribe a drink made from unripe dates. A man came and said, "Wine has been forbidden."They said, "Pour it out, Anas." So I poured it out.I asked, "What was their drink?"He replied, "Unripe and ripe dates."Abu Bakr bin Anas said, "That was their wine in those days." Anas heard this and did not object.Some of those who were with us said that Anas himself said, "That was their wine in those days."

كنت قائما على الحي أسقيهم من فضيخ تمر قال فجاء رجل فقال إن الخمر قد حرمت قالوا أكفئها يا أنس فأكفأتها قلت ما كان شرابهم قال البسر والرطب و قال أبو بكر بن أنس كانت خمرهم يومئذ وأنس يسمع فلم ينكره و قال بعض من كان معنا قال أنس كانت خمرهم يومئذ
