The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the night of my ascension, I passed by a people whose lips were being clipped with scissors of fire."I asked, "Who are these?"He replied, "These are the preachers of your community from among the people of this world. They used to command others to do good while forgetting themselves, even though they recited the Book. Did they not understand?"

قال رسول الله ﷺ مررت ليلة أسري بي على قوم تقرض شفاههم بمقاريض من نار قلت ما هؤلاء قال هؤلاء خطباء أمتك من أهل الدنيا كانوا يأمرون الناس بالبر وينسون أنفسهم وهم يتلون الكتاب أفلا يعقلون
