Anas bin Malik reported,

Hasan reported from Thabit and Humayd, who reported from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was passing by a garden belonging to Banu Najjar, riding his white mule, when he heard the voices of people being punished in their graves. The mule shied. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Were it not that you would cease to bury one another, I would ask Allah to make you hear the punishment of the grave."

قال حسن عن ثابت وحميد عن أنس أن رسول الله ﷺ مر على بغلته الشهباء بحائط لبني النجار فسمع أصوات قوم يعذبون في قبورهم فحاصت البغلة فقال النبي ﷺ لولا أن لا تدافنوا لسألت الله عز وجل أن يسمعكم عذاب القبر
